This is the first post on this blog, so I’ll get straight to the point.
My name is Jorge, I’m a software developer, and I’ve been writing a cyberpunk science fiction novel called Babel: The Last Shift for almost three years. It’s a grimdark story with a noir tone, now over 250 pages long. At some point, the idea of turning that universe into a video game stopped being a fantasy and became a real project.
I’m developing a turn-based combat RPG with an isometric perspective in Unity. It’s a personal project — I have a job, a family, and limited time — but I also have a story I want people to be able to play.
What this blog is for
From now on, I’ll be documenting the development of the game here: the decisions I make, the problems I run into, what I learn along the way, and the real progress of the project. No filters and no promises I can’t keep.
If you’re into indie development, cyberpunk, or just following someone trying to build something with what they’ve got, welcome. This is just getting started.
